Insights on Life

Have you experienced waking up each day and getting excited or worried of what season of life you are about to face? Will you be prepared if it is a winter day when problems and sufferings come your way? Will you be ready to take full advantage of the opportunities that arise on a spring day? Will you be able to protect what you have achieved in times of joy and comfort in a summer’s day? Will you take responsibility of your previous success or mistakes in an autumn day? Well, we can never choose only one season to deal with. Each season is very much a part of our existence. The four seasons are crucial realities in our lives and it all depends on us on how to handle it carefully, creatively, constructively and effectively.

We are called to be aware and to understand each season in our lives to survive every challenge that it brings us. If winter comes, we will not keep on complaining. Instead, we have stronger capability and faith to overcome it. If spring comes, we will not have regrets because we are guided to decide critically on what opportunity to take or to let go. If summer comes, our hearts will be filled with gratitude without wasting everything that we have worked hard for. If autumn comes, we can open ourselves to learn the lessons that the previous seasons taught us and put everything into perspective.

In just a few hours or days, new seasons will come and gone and will take its purpose in our lives. Indeed, nothing in this word is permanent. It is very important that we enjoy each season and take seriously the teachings it gives us.

Philippine Economy

Our economy is a study in contrasts. We have poverty in the midst of plenty; we have rapidly expanding industries like computer software and medical technology, and dying industries like shipbuilding, textiles and consumer electronics. Every economy will use the best available technology. At times, because a country cannot afford the most up-to-date equipment, it will use older machinery and tools. That country really has a capital problem rather than a technological one.

The Philippine economy has been growing steadily over decades. The Philippines' economy is strong and is still growing along side the growth of technology.
As a newly industrialized country, the Philippines is still an economy with a large agricultural sector; however, services have come to dominate the economy. Overseas Filipino workers are good benefit for the economy. Call center agents are part of the economy of the Philippines, aiming to provide fresh sources of jobs.
Philippine economy continues to struggle extremely limited financial resources while attempting to meet the needs of a rapidly expanding population.
As the economy in the Philippines becomes more and more inflated, the poor in every community are being deeply affected
Philippine economic crisis is partly due to the preferences of ordinary citizens to buy foreign made goods.

I think our economy is always up and down--always depends on who's the president. Now, i can’t really state if the Philippine economy will still undergo to financial crisis.

Philippine Politics

I want change. For more than years, Filipinos experience more difficulties – poverty and corruption. Is there any hope for change? Are there any fresh substances that the new administration offers? I hope that starting today; people will choose the person who they think is the hope of our country. A person who they believe has the capability to heal the sick old administration.

It is quite alarming that the rate of poverty is increasing every period. In that case, many children will be abandoned and die because of hunger. These children blame their parents for living a miserable life. The parents blame the government for not giving them jobs to sustain their needs. As to the Government, who is the ministry of our nation that has the great role to lessen this problem? One way is increasing the employment rate by adding more livelihood programs and businesses using the people’s fund. Another is strengthening the law about child labor so that their will be no children working and begging.

In terms of Government projects, many government officials do not declare the exact amount of money that was being used. Instead, they practice “patong” in which the exact amount used is being filled with any additional amount. That additional amount will be kept in the pockets of those people who build the project.

For me politics means power, the power to serve, but as we see the meaning of politics is inverted to corruption, manipulation and control. As a student, this dirty trick makes me think that politics is a dirty game.
